I enjoyed developing my own herbal palate. I started with just a couple of herbs at a time so I could learn the uniqueness of each herb.
The first step is easy, releasing the scent. Easy as bruising or tearing a leaf, or cutting the fresh herb. Inhale and experience the fragrant bouquet.
Next, take a clean leaf and chew, it is not necessary to swallow. Pay attention to what your palate tells you. Yes, you too have a palate! Chew and learn about the flavor of each herbs. Is it intense, mild, how much and to what would to like to add it too?
